1959 Started learning “Kai” style calligraphy, and memorizing Tang and Song poems.

1966 Mater Kang Yin accepted Yansheng as his student studying ancient Qing and Han scal inscription on memorial stones copying outstanding calligraphic pieces of all dynasties.

1975 <<People’s China>> magazine Japanese edition published Yansheng’s art work for the first time <Climbed All Mountains and Still Young>, <New Creation Outshine Past>

1976 Selected by Beijing Palace Museum to become a full time seal cutting and calligraphy researcher

1977 Invited by the National Cultural Relics Bureau to enter his work for the inaugural exhibition in Japan. <Modern Arts in People’s Republic of China>

1980 Nominated by Rong Bao Zhai as a top ranking artist of China to participate in Sino-Japan cultural exchange programs.

1985 Invited to lecture in Japan
Published <Spring Breeze Crossing “Wei” River>, calligraphy and painting portfolio of 50 Tang poems
Became art advisor for Japan Isuzu Automobile company.

1986 To promote traditional Chinese culture, created <Muo Yuan Society> and became the president.
Lectured at Nishogakusha University of Japan on <Chinese Calligraphy – its creativity and appreciation>

1987 First calligraphy and seal cutting exhibition in Tokyo. Ikebukuro Art Museum.

1988 Became lecturer of traditional Chinese calligraphy, painting and seal cutting for Japan NHK culture and art centre.

1989 Individual exhibition at Nagano prefecture matsumoto city Art Gallery.
Participated in <<Asian Art Expo>>
Became calligraphy lecturer of Japan Kyushu institute of technology Alumni Sciety.

1990 Individual exhibitions at Sano prefecture and Tochigi prefecture art galleries in Japan

1991 Became an art panel judge for Tokyo Ueno Art Museum.
Published calligraphy and painting work titled < Ancient Chinese Quottions> which was a collection item in the British Museum Library.
Individual exhibition <<Li Yansheng Poem, Calligraphy, Painting and Seal Cutting>>

1992 Invited by Hakone Sculpture Museum of Japan to be the appraiser for Chinese calligraphy and painting collections

1993 First exhibition of calligraphy, painting and seal cutting at Chinese History Museum in Beijing. Publication of the work followed.
An organizer of event “Chinese Korean Cultural Exchange” and entered many work.

1994 Individual exhibition at Tokyo Ginza Central Art Gallery.

1995 Exhibition tour in the United States of America.

1996 Individual exhibition at Japan Okayama Ianmanya Art Gallery and the work was published.

1997 In April, Tokyou Shinjuku Odakyu Art Museum held <Li Yansheng Calligraphy, Painting and Seal Cutting Exhibition> with more than 100 pieces of work.
In November, individual exhibition in Taiwan Collection Art Museum. The work <Wen Tianxiang – Song of Justice>, scripts on eight screens became collection items of Taiwan History Museum.

1998 Offered the post of Taiwan Chang Liu Gallery overseas art advisor.
